JANUARY 11, 2010 — Lauderdale By The Sea, FL — Palette, Mask and Lyre Studio Theatre will begin productions in association with Dance Moves located at 220 East Commercial Boulevard in Lauderdale by the Sea. Palette, Mask and Lyre is a non-profit 501.c3 Florida corporation and strives to provide an eventful theatre experience. Sandi Galo-Mann is a resident of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and has been in the Theatre industry off and on for the past 20 years in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. Sandi has extensive experience in the theatre industry stemming from Stage Management, Box Office, company Management, teaching, acting, directing and producing.
Our first production will be about the scandalous, and colorful actor John Barrymore. Mr. Barrymore reveals stories of his life while rehearsing his lines for Richard III with his line prompter. This limited production will begin on Saturday January 23rd and 30th, at 8:00pm.
We have an outreach program that promotes the talents of young gifted artists under the age of 25. Musicians demonstrate their talents by performing pre-show, intermission and post show music for the audience. Artists can exhibit their artwork in our lobby offering exposure to their works. February 13th and 20th we will be presenting Frankie and Johnnie in The Clair De Lune written by Terrance McNally. Frankie and Johnny, two middle aged people stuck in a stagnated life struggle with romance.
Art by Yasmina Reza, is a play about how far a friendship can be challenged when a piece of art comes between two long time friends. Productions will be on March 13th and 20th.
Our season will end with the musical I Do! I Do! By Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, authors of the Fantasticks. The musical takes you through the lives of a couple from their wedding day and beyond. Productions will be April 10th and 17th.
